National Partnership Action Fund Launches Six-Figure Ad Buy on Abortion and Paid Leave in Battleground States
/Washington, DC — Today, the National Partnership for Women & Families Action Fund announced that the organization will run ads in Wisconsin and Nevada highlighting the importance of the freedom to access abortion care and the freedom to be able to take paid time off for family and medical needs. The organization’s goal is to highlight what’s at stake for voters this November as they head to the polls to choose candidates that reflect their values.
Recently, news outlets have reported on the fact that all 21 states that have enacted abortion bans also do not offer paid family medical leave.
“Voters are becoming more aware that politicians who ban abortion, don’t actually care about family values,” said National Partnership for Women & Families Action Fund Senior Advisor Constance Torian. “Because if you really cared about women and their families you would ensure that they have access to the best health care and workplace benefits possible, whether or not they decide to have a child. We also know that women take on the bulk of caregiving responsibilities in our society, including caring for elderly parents and relatives while often raising their own children. Whether explicitly or not, these issues are connected and they come down to freedom—freedom to raise a family as you choose and to be supported in those choices. That’s what’s at stake this November and voters should pay attention to where candidates stand on these issues.”
The National Partnership for Women & Families Action Fund has been working to advance a care agenda and for the first time ever the organization endorsed a candidate for president, supporting Vice President Kamala Harris at the top of the ticket. Harris has been outspoken about her plans to improve our nation’s care infrastructure.
The ads will begin running in the Milwaukee and Las Vegas areas over the next several weeks on Facebook and Instagram, Youtube, and streaming on Hulu and Disney+, targeting women of color, working women, and independent women.
